Ruby Laser Construction, DIY Electroplating

Published on Sep 26, 2016 It's been a while since my last video, so I decided to give you an update on what's going on! Since my last vid I've moved from IL to NY and I have started grad school classes. I do like the program, but it has kept me very busy! I finished the power supply for the ruby laser, and in this vid I fire up the lamp trigger. I'm a big fan of electrophoresis power supplies, because they provide a cheap and programmable source of high voltage DC! They can be had on eBay for as low as $50 (but DON"T buy one if you aren't experienced with electricity. One wrong move and you're dead on the floor.) What's left for me is to mount the lamp/ruby and then build the optical resonator. The electroplating setup did not work as well as I'd have liked, but once I get some polishing tools I'll see if I can make it bright. [Ссылки могут видеть только зарегистрированные пользователи]
